I co-presented a program in Tampa at NALP’s 2013 annual conference called “Client-Development Readiness: Aligning Professional Development with Associate Marketing in a Competitive Market.”
We discussed law firms’ need to offer more than simply substantive education to their associates. Sure, high-quality technical legal skills are critical, but to have truly successful careers, today’s associates need to add networking, marketing, and business-development weapons to their arsenal.
Among our terrific attendees was Vivian Z. Wexler, Bingham’s Senior Manager, Learning and Development. Vivian was kind enough to share with us some of her previous experience as an Assistant Director at Harvard Law School, where she developed programs and advised law students.
We grabbed her briefly after the session, to learn her thoughts regarding law firms offering marketing training to their associates.
She’s terrific. Click here for the interview.
